John W. Mullan

Biography

John W. Mullan is a tenor based in the Washington, D.C., area. He has appeared as a concert soloist with the Choir of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Mountainside Baroque, and the Washington Men’s Camerata. His ensemble work includes those organizations, as well as Ars Populi, Chantry, The Thirteen, and the Washington National Cathedral Choir.

Highlights of the 2026–27 season include Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with The Thirteen at Washington National Cathedral, a joint concert with Siglo de Oro, and the Robert White Lamentations with Ars Populi. Recent seasons have included Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s Magnificat at Washington National Cathedral, a performance tour to Rome with the Choir of the Basilica of the National Shrine, and the modern premiere of Palestrina’s Missa Tu Es Petrus.

He studies voice with Elizabeth Daniels and is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the University of Pennsylvania.
